Junior Marine Biology Program
Join us on an 6 week program to explore the wonders of our beautiful ocean!
About the educator!
Hi, I'm Nicola—a marine biologist, wildlife photographer, and passionate conservation educator. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology and Environmental Science and have extensive experience in education, marine tourism, and wildlife conservation.

I moved to Albany two years ago and immediately fell in love with the stunning south coast and its incredible marine life. From majestic whales to vibrant seagrass meadows, this region is teeming with life, and I believe that by teaching children about the marine ecosystems in their own backyard, we can inspire the next generation of ocean guardians.

My journey has taken me around the world, blending my love for conservation, education, and adventure. I have solo-traveled for wildlife photography and conservation in South Africa and Sri Lanka, capturing the beauty of nature while learning about efforts to protect it. I have also both worked and volunteered with a range of wildlife and/or education programs programs in both South East Asia and Australia. These experiences have deepened my commitment to making environmental education accessible, engaging, and impactful.
My Background Includes:
-
Delivering ocean education workshops after school for primary students in Albany.
-
Delivering kindergarten school talks on marine conservation.
-
Working as a marine snorkel guide at Rottnest Island, educating visitors about marine life.
-
Serving as a marine biology school camp educator in Cairns.
-
Presenting turtle rehabilitation and education talks in Cairns.
-
4 Years of swim teaching between Hong Kong and Australia
-
Coaching netball and other sports, fostering teamwork and confidence in children.
-
Solo-traveling for wildlife photography and conservation in South Africa and Sri Lanka.
-
Participating in volunteering and conservation and education programs in South East Asia and Australia
My goal is to make ocean education accessible and inspiring, helping kids develop a personal connection to the sea while having fun. Whether through hands-on learning, storytelling, or immersive experiences, I aim to spark curiosity and a lifelong love for marine conservation.
